Oregon Coastal Flower’s debut crop, the large white calla lily, grows like a weed on the Oregon Coast. Oregon Coastal Flowers began with the Zatedeschia aethiopica (large white calla lily), and over time has perfected its culture to supply you with the finest quality white calla lilies on the market. Since the days of ancient Rome, the calla lily has been treasured as a flower of celebration. Today like never before, large white calla lilies are being used in weddings and special events to rival the use of roses. Whether you will be in the need of wedding flowers or sympathy flowers in the near future, a bouquet of fresh calla lilies in your home or office can brighten anyone’s day. The large old fashioned white calla lilies are produced in Oregon from February through June. We offer two sizes of old fashioned white calla lilies, standard calla lily and premium calla lily. The standard calla lily measure between 14-26” tall and the premium from 26”+ (averageing 34” tall). Fully open, the flowers measure approximately 3 inches across the top. We ship the flowers approximately 1/3 open to prevent bruising during transit. Within 2-3 days at room temperature, the white calla lilies will open to the most popular stage at about 2/3 open. We suggest a Wednesday or Thursday delivery for a weekend event to allow enough time for these calla lilies to open up. We ship these large white calla lilies using 2nd day air fedex. Upon arrival, simply unpack from the box, recut the stems, and allow them time to open. Be prepared with large buckets to hydrate these flowers into. There are two ways to minimize this. Firstly, open the box and check the quality of the flowers without loosening the packaging material. If everything looks okay, shut the box again and turn the box upside down for 6-12 hours. The flowers will straighten slightly. Secondly, when putting them in buckets, leave the curve to the outside of the bucket. Since it is normal for the calla lilies to reach for the light, they will straighten up against the curve. Be careful, though, as if placed in the bucket incorrectly, the curve can become even more pronounced. The large white calla lilies on this page are for delivery February through June.
